Pastor now facing brand new child sex charges

A well known Alabama pastor is now faces brand new child sex charges in Jefferson County.

Acton Bowen was indicted after an investigation, according to a report, this time he is charged with Sodomy 2nd degree and Enticing A Child To Enter A Vehicle.

Bowen was already charged in Jefferson County on a separate charge of 2nd degree sexual abuse.

He remains in the Etowah County Jail on a $855,000 bond for separate charges there related to five other potential victims of sexual abuse.

Prosecutors suspect more victims may come forward in Alabama and at least two other states.

Bowen had a outreach ministry named, Acton Bowen Outreach. The website has since been removed.

Bowen had worked as a youth minister nearly a decade ago at the CrossPoint Community Church before it closed.

There he worked closely with students from Coosa Christian School where he also graduated. Bowen has spent much of his adult life mentoring young children, his father.  

Bowen Released a statement on one of the charges and said, " When this accusation was made known to me I was hurt, confused, and heartbroken. I have not done what I am accused of and have not acted inappropriately in any way. Prior to the arrest only one side of the story was heard," Bowen said. 

Bowen is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing in Jefferson County on May 15th.
