-The former Democratic Party chair officially threw his hat into the governor's race on Wednesday, and already some Wisconsinites are calling for him to drop out.

Women's March Wisconsin, along with some of its partner organizations including groups outside of the state, believe Flynn should immediately withdraw his candidacy for governor.

They said that's because of his previous role representing the Archdiocese of Milwaukee against priest sex abuse lawsuits, and his original refusal to answer questions about his past work when confronted about it.

Flynn had a terse response to that request: "Jump in a lake."

News 18 said down with members of the Eau Claire chapter of Women's March Wisconsin, who again called for Flynn to end his run.

"If you're running for a public office, you need to be willing to answer the questions of the people. It's up to us as people to hold elected officials and candidates responsible for that. When they don't do that, we need to call for them to end their campaigns or not vote for them," said Violet Kilmurray, the co-chair of Women's March Wisconsin.

"We need to ask for more from our candidates," said member Nazish Kahn. "They have to be more transparent and willing to answer the tough questions. It's not supposed to be easy."

Kilmurray said Women's March Wisconsin is not endorsing any of the people in the governor's race at the moment, but the group is working on a candidate questionnaire for those seeking endorsements.

"We want to see a progressive candidate who will stand up for everybody, who will listen to victims and not try to shut them down, who listen to the people and be willing to answer questions and hold those conversations," she said.

News 18 also reached out to Flynn's campaign on Thursday, to see if he had more to say about the matter. Flynn said:

"I have the greatest respect for the Women’s March. I marched myself in Sheboygan. The leaders of that movement have incorrect information they were given. I am not going to drop out of the race based on false allegations. It is legitimate to talk about my experience in terms of qualifications for governor but it’s not legitimate to urge withdrawal from the race based on something that isn’t true. I reviewed the documents that were shown to me and posted answers on social media. I made it clear to the representative of the March that I would be happy to talk to her by phone afterward to discuss in further detail. We’re all fighting the same fight for the same goals."
