With the Church still in the throes of a crisis generated by the sexual abuse scandals, La Croix has invited several leading Church personalities to look at possible solutions. In this article, musician Olivier Savignac, who was himself a victim of child sex abuse, shares his perspective on the issue.To my dear Catholic family, who are battling to keep the faith.Amid the current crisis that has affected all of us at the deepest levels of our faith lives, we all have an opportunity to respond as Christ would wish us to do.Until the age of 13, I had a happy life, a loving family, friends and activities, which all helped me to develop.I had God in my life and my faith continued to grow through the Eucharistic Youth Movement (MEJ) and Ignatian spirituality.I shared this precious treasure with my friends by singing at Mass on Sundays. Until I was 13, there was nothing to indicate that I was about to experience the way of the cross.I did not have strong arms or shoulders....
