The Maryland Province of the Society of Jesus released the names Monday of Jesuits from the province, and others who have served the province, who have been credibly accused of sexual abuse of minors since 1950.

"We are deeply sorry for the harm we have caused to victims and their families," reads a letter accompanying the list of names. "We also apologize for participating in the harm that abuse has done to our Church, a Church that we love and that preaches God’s care for all, especially the most vulnerable among us."

Five of the men, the group says, are current Maryland Province Jesuits or are current Jesuits from another Province whose offense took place in the Maryland Province.

Those men are identified as Michael L. Barber, Neil P. McLaughlin, J-Glenn Murray, Claude L. Ory and William J. Walsh. They served throughout the D.C. area, including at Gonzaga College High School, MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, St. Aloysius Church and Woodstock Theological Center.

All are listed as currently "living in a restricted environment on a safety plan."

Eight other men are deceased - Louis A. Bonacci, Francis C. Bourbon, H. Cornell Bradley, C. Jeffries Burton, Charles G. Coyle, John H. Duggan, Stephen M. Garrity and Garrett D. Orr.

The most recent abuse listed in the report was in 2002, by Garrett Orr. The description the report gives is "multiple allegations of sexual abuse" in North Bethesda. The school Orr was assigned to was Georgetown Preparatory School. In 2005, he was removed from the ministry, in 2008 he left the Jesuits and in 2011, Orr pled guilty to two counts of 4th degree sex offense, the report says.

"We view the disclosure today of our shameful history as part of our commitment now to preventing abuse," the letter goes on to say. "The Maryland Province employs a strict zero-tolerance policy regarding sexual abuse and reports to civil authorities accusations of sexual abuse involving a minor."
