It's not the first-time Michael Jackson has been accused of sexually assaulting young boys, but the allegations in the new HBO documentary "Leaving Neverland" — the first against Jackson in the #MeToo era — are getting wide traction.

In the film, Wade Robson and James Safechuck share detailed and often graphic accounts of years of abuse by the singer. Jackson's family has denied all claims of abuse. In light of the documentary, many are questioning: Is it possible to separate the art from the alleged abuser?

To discuss, Jim Braude is joined by Boston Globe columnist Renee Graham, attorney Mitchell Garabedian — who's represented thousands of victims of sexual abuse at the hands of the Catholic Church — and Phil Saviano, a church abuse survivor and founder of the New England chapter of Survivors Network of Those Abused.

Local James Beard Awards Semifinalists

While the Academy Awards are over, the Oscars of the restaurant world are still to come. This year, nearly 20 chefs, restaurants, bakers and bars around Massachusetts are among the semifinalists for the James Beard Awards.

Jim Braude is joined by three of these semifinalists: Haley Fortier, the owner and operator of haley.henry and nathalie; Tiffani Faison, the owner and chef of Sweet Cheeks, Tiger Mama and Fool’s Errand; and Seizi Imura, the owner and chef of Cafe Sushi.

IMHO: An Elementary School Principal Goes The Extra Mile

It's well known that reading to children helps their brains develop, but not every child has that advantage after school hours. One principal in Texas is working to fix that. At Homer Drive Elementary School, Principal Belinda George goes the extra mile for her 680 students — or scholars, as she calls them — with what she calls “Tucked-In Tuesday.”

Jim Braude on how it sometimes really does take a village — even a virtual one — to help raise a child.
