I Accidentally Jostled a Guy Who Spilled Coffee on His Laptop. Do I Owe Him a New One?

I was in a crowded Starbucks the other day, and when I got up to leave, I accidentally jostled the man sitting behind me. (The back of his seat was pushed up against the back of my seat and when I said excuse me, he didn’t move.) I bumped his elbow, which was right by his coffee, which had no lid on it, and which spilled all over his laptop.

Everyone in the cafe agrees the laptop is ruined. He says I owe him a new computer. I say he should’ve moved his chair and kept his coffee covered. What do you think?
