Bishop Richard Condie in 2018 announced a decision to sell off diocesan property to fund its contribution to the National Redress Scheme for survivors of institutional child sexual abuse.

A total of 108 properties were initially listed, and then cut down to 73 after local parishes chipped in thousands of dollars.

Eight other North-West properties are slated to join the market over the next two to three years, including St Bartholomew's church Forest, St John's church Railton, St Luke's church and hall Latrobe, St James' church and hall Northdown, St Olave's church Stony Rise, St Paul's church and hall Stanley and vacant blocks at South Preston and Oldina.

Properties that have already been sold include St Barnabas' Church & Hall at Sheffield, St Paul's Church at Myalla, vacant land adjacent to St Olave's Church at Stony Rise and vacant land at Gormanston.

North-West properties removed from the sale list include St Martin's Church, Shed and Rectory at Queenstown, St Paul's church and hall at East Devonport, St Stephen's church and hall at Penguin and St Stephen's church, house and hall at Wynyard.
