Bishops Blame Everyone but Themselves

Over the last 50 years, the majority of U.S. bishops have rendered impotent the authority of the Church in worldly matters, making flailing and often embarrassing attempts to play nice with the world.

The bishops claim they are being "transparent" regarding sex abuse, but time and time again, they are outed by secular sources. After the massive 2002 Boston Globe exposure of clerical sex abuse, the bishops addressed it as a thing of the past.

One of America's top prelates, former cardinal Theodore McCarrick, met with other American bishops in Dallas, to establish the norms by which the U.S. Church would investigate sex abuse — this became known as the "Dallas Charter."

"This crisis is more important than any crisis we've had in my time," McCarrick told The New York Times. "Our people are waiting for the bishops to say, okay, we've got it under control, we're on the same page, we hear you and we've listened to you, and now you can be sure that this will never happen again.''

Little did the public know at the time that McCarrick would later be revealed as one of the most high-profile homosexual predators in modern Church history. His demonic predation, known at the time by seminarians, lay victims like James Grein, priests and fellow bishops would be covered up for another 16 years.

Then, in 2002, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops commissioned a study to examine the root causes of the crisis. The research team from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice was tapped for the job and released its initial report in 2004. Eight years later, it released a revised version.

While the bishops have consistently denied or downplayed the fact that more than 80% of sexual abuse was homosexual in nature, they have consistently given cover to homosexual abusers.

There's little hope for justice, since the Vatican's own report on the McCarrick situation, gave cover to McCarrick. Pope Francis approved the document that condemned Pope John Paul II and Abp. Carlo Vigano — one of the pope's most outspoken critics.

Tellingly, 80% of sexual abuse was homosexual in nature, and bishops have consistently given cover for homosexual abusers.Tweet

Dozens of currently living bishops achieved their power at the behest of McCarrick and knew about his homosexual predation, yet they were quiet or outright lied.

The bishops and the pope must acknowledge the priesthood has been infested with sodomites and that those men now sit in positions of power — or no real reform can take place.
