Rev. Roger Trott, 42, pastor of St. John DeLasalle Church, has been "cooperative" with authorities in an investigation of charges of corruption of a minor, prosecutors said.

Westmoreland County District Attorney John Driscoll said the charge against Trott was based on allegations of "some improper contact" with a 13-year-old altar boy.

Trott has "been cooperative in the investigation," Driscoll said.

The priest is undergoing medical treatment after being charged with corruption of a minor, an official of the Greensburg Catholic Diocese said today.

His arrest last week "surprised and shocked" church officials, said Monsignor Thomas Klinzing, diocese chancellor.

Klinzing said the priest informed diocese officials of the investigation against him and resigned.

"He is presently undergoing medical evaluation," the chancellor said.

Trott became pastor at St. John De La Salle in October 1985.
