Priest Pleads No Contest in Sexual Assault of Boy

Chicago Tribune
July 25, 1990

The former pastor of St. Frederick's Roman Catholic Church in suburban Cudahy pleaded no contest to a charge of fourth-degree sexual assault of a boy. The Rev. James L. Arimond, 51, was released without bond after making the plea Monday in Milwaukee County Circuit Court. Judge Thomas Doherty scheduled sentencing for Oct. 3. Church officials placed Arimond on an administrative leave of absence in late January pending an investigation into allegations of misconduct. The criminal complaint said Arimond indecently fondled the boy in the summer of 1988. Assistant District Atty. John DiMotto said the boy moved out of state in 1989 and did not tell anyone about the incident until he told his mother after the move. The boy was 17 then, DiMotto said.
