  Ex-Priest Surrenders in Molestation Case

Chicago Tribune [Neillsville Wis]
October 14, 1992

A former Colby priest facing up to 5 years in prison was in jail Tuesday after surrendering at a rural home. Rev. Bruce Ball, 44, had been ordered to report to the Clark County Sheriff's Department Monday morning to begin his prison sentence for sexually touching a boy during a counseling session in 1991.

The priest never showed and was considered a fugitive for 12 hours. An anonymous tip led officers to a rural home near Unity on Monday evening, investigators said. Ball was relieved of his duties at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Colby shortly after charges were filed late last year.
