  More Allegations against Priest

Boston Globe
October 31, 1992

Authorities in Vermont are investigating sexual abuse allegations against a Hingham priest who faces charges in Massachusetts that he repeatedly raped an alter boy in 1980 and 1982, according to a published report. Three men have charged that the Rev. John R. Hanlon sexually abused them on vacations at the priest's Dover, Vt., home in the early 1980s, authorities told the Patriot Ledger of Quincy. Father Hanlon, on leave as pastor of St. Paul's Church in Hingham, told the newspaper that he could not comment on the latest accusations.

Vermont authorities have not filed any charges. In June, Father Hanlon, 63, pleaded not guilty in Plymouth District Court to two counts of rape of a child by force and three counts of assault with intent to commit rape of a child.
