A Jesuit priest pleaded guilty Friday of getting a mail order videotape showing two boys having sex.

Gerhardt B. Lehmkuhl, a lawyer as well as a priest, could get a year to 18 months in prison for ordering child pornography.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Patricia A. McGarry said that agents with a search warrant found "Young Teen Catalog" and seven other videotapes on Oct. 19 at Lehmkuhl's apartment in the 3600 block of Lindell Boulevard.

U.S. District Judge Carol E. Jackson accepted Lehmkuhl's guilty plea to one felony count of receiving a videotape showing minors having sex. She scheduled sentencing for Feb. 9.

McGarry said authorities had no indication that Lehmkuhl, 53, has ever abused children.

The prosecutor acknowledged that Lehmkuhl had ordered the videotape from a catalog postal inspectors sent him. McGarry said courts have ruled that such action is not entrapment.

Officials wouldn't comment on why Lehmkuhl was targeted. McGarry said only that his case was part of a wider investigation into kiddie porn.

Mexican boys who looked to be 13 to 15 years old appeared in the videotape Lehmkuhl ordered, McGarry said.
