Sun-Sentinel (Fort Lauderdale, FL)
March 14, 1996

Police in Prince George's County, Maryland, on Wednesday said an Oakland Park man has been arrested and charged with sexual abuse of a child.

Police said William Earl Krouse, 50, former pastor and priest at the St. Francis Catholic Deaf Center in Landover Hills, Md., was arrested on Tuesday in Oakland Park. They said Krouse was accused of abusing a deaf and mute youth on several occasions between 1968 and 1972.

Krouse is incarcerated at the Broward County Jail awaiting extradition to Maryland. Police said the investigation is continuing.

Father Edward Helm, the current pastor-director at the St. Francis deaf center, said Krouse left it in 1980.
