Sex Offender Convicted of Tearing down Poster

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (Wisconsin)
September 30, 1998

A former Clark County priest who served fi ve years in prison for sexually assaulting a boy was convicted Tuesday of tearing down a poster that labeled him a convicted child molester.

Bruce Ball pleaded guilty Tuesday to misdemeanor disorderly conduct. He was fined $300 plus court c osts.

Ball, of La Crosse, was convicted of sexual exploitation of a boy in 1991 in Colby. Because Ball has a cabin near Hatfield in Jackson County, the Sheriff's Department posted signs, warning people that a convicted child molester visits the area.

Last month, Ball saw one of the posters at a bar, tore it down and then walked away with it.
