SAN FRANCISCO A priest on the board of education for the San Francisco Roman Catholic Archdiocese was arrested on suspicion of molesting a teen-age boy, police said.

The Rev. Bernard Dabbene, 63, allegedly picked up the 17-year-old boy, held the youngster against his will and fondled him. Police said the two were found with their pants unzipped in the priest's car.

Dabbene, who belongs to the Salesians of Don Bosco order of priests, was released Sunday night after posting $10,500 bail. He is scheduled for arraignment Thursday.

Dabbene has been charged with felony counts of assault with intent to commit oral copulation and false imprisonment, and misdemeanor counts of annoying or molesting a child and sexually battery.

Dabbene has been a priest for 34 years, serving in parishes in the Bay Area and Southern California.
