Priest in Kid-Porn Bust By Cynthia Fagen New York Post April 15, 2003 A New Jersey Catholic priest was caught on tape viewing child pornography on his office computer at the hospital where he served as head chaplain, the Bergen County prosecutors office said yesterday. Father John Komar was arrested at Englewood Hospital, where he had served as a counselor for 10 years, and charged with possession of child pornography. Komar confessed to cops it was "for his personal gratification," said prosecutor John Molinelli. He was issued a summons and released on his own recognizance. He could face 18 months in jail.
