We Remember Justin K. Weger, Osc

Crosier Fathers & Brothers
Spring 2005

Justin K. Weger, osc, 79, took his final, triumphant journey at 1:30 P.M., Friday January 14, 2005, after spending the last year at Carestone Assisted Living Facility in Tempe, Arizona.

Justin's death came at the end of 58 years as a Crosier. After professing his vows as a religious on August 28, 1946, he was ordained in 1952. Justin then served in several parishes in the Minnesota area and was a member of the faculty of Crosier Seminary in Onamia, Minn. where he assisted in the donation and magazine offices. Much of Justin's work in Minnesota and, later, Arizona, was among Native Americans. In Minnesota, he served as pastor at St. Theresa of the Little Flower Parish in Vineland, and later was involved in the Mille Lacs Foundation and worked with Indian Affairs throughout Minnesota. When he moved to Arizona in 1975, Justin served as pastor in Sells until 1977 when he began working with the Tribal Lodge in Phoenix. Justin retired from the Tribal Lodge in 2002 and moved into the Community House in Phoenix where he lived for several months before moving to Carestone.

Please pray for Justin, as well as his sister, Jane, the Phoenix Crosiers and the health care people, who cared for Justin.

May he rest in Christ's peace and healing comfort.
