  Rev. Thaddeus J Kardas 1944 - 2006

GARDNER — Rev. Thaddeus J. Kardas, 61, of 40 Comee Street, died Thursday, August 24, 2006, at Saint Vincent Hospital, Worcester. He was born in Ware, son of the late Tadeus J. and Caroline (Bish) Kardas, and lived in West Warren for 18 years. Father Kardas received his BA Degree from St. Mary's College in Orchard Lake, Michigan in 1966 and graduated from SS. Cyril & Methodius Seminary, Orchard Lake, in 1970. He was ordained Presbyter (Priest) for the Diocese of Worcester at St. Stanislaus Bishop & Martyr Church, West Warren, MA on May 23, 1970 by Bishop Bernard J. Flanagan. He received his MA Degree in Theology from Assumption College in Worcester, MA in 1977. His assignments included Parochial Vicar in St. George's Church, Worcester, Holy Family of Nazareth Church, Leominster, and St. Peter's Church in Northbridge; and was Pastor at St. Edward the Confessor Church in Westminster, his last pastorate.

Father Kardas is survived by his cousins, John Bish and his wife Magi, and Michael Bish of West Warren, MA; Irene Annunziato and Jeannette Sawicki of Maspeth, N.Y., and Barbara Demers, and many faithful friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at Sacred Heart Church, 166 Cross St., Gardner, MA. A calling hour will be held 10-11 a.m. at the church, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial will be immediately following in Holy Cross Cemetery, Ware, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to SS. Cyril & Methodius Seminary, Orchard Lake, Michigan 48324. Cebula Funeral Home, Ware, has been entrusted with his arrangements.
