  Confrere Bruce Maxwell, osc, dies

On February 17, Confrere Bruce Maxwell, osc, passed away in his sleep. Confrere Bruce Maxwell had double bypass heart surgery at the Veteran's Hospital in Tucson, Arizona, on February 8. On February 11, he was released from the hospital and he was recovering at the Crosier community house on Campbell Avenue in Phoenix.

Bruce Maxwell, osc, was 66 years of age, born on December 11, 1939. He professed vows on September 12, 1971 and was ordained presbyter May 10, 1975.

As a Crosier, Bruce Maxwell, osc, served in various ministries and communities. After ordination, he lived in Hastings, Neb., and worked as the Mission Director for the Province. Later he became a member of the Riverview, Mich., community and served in various ministries of the Archdiocese of Detroit. Bruce Maxwell, osc, then joined the US Navy as a military chaplain and served in various locations in the United States and other parts of the world. In 2002, he received an honorable discharge from the US Navy and became a member of the Phoenix Crosier Community.

Bruce Maxwell, osc, is survived by his nieces and nephews and his confreres.
