Vetter, in the early 1960s, when the person was in the fourth grade at Nativity Church, El Monte. The enclosed letter apparently had no date on it.
3/30/94 Ltr from Local Superior of Mater Dolorosa Passionist Residence to the Vicar for Clergy, informing the Vicar that the Passionists became aware on January 6, 1993 of a claim that the same person had been abused as a minor in 1960 or 1961 by Fr. Vetter and that the Archdiocese was aware of this claim at the same time, namely January 6, 1993. Since then the Passionists and the alleged victim had engaged in settlement discussions using legal counsel. In September, 1993 the Passionists offered to pay for the alleged victim's therapy but needed to confirm with his therapist that the alleged incident caused his present condition. They had heard nothing further from the alleged victim since that request.

Although the letter is privileged, it includes a double hearsay report from the parents of two adult men that they reported the incident to two priests at St. Philomena and a bishop two weeks later. Nothing in the letter indicates that anyone except the parents of the alleged victims indicated any knowledge of the incident in or about 1974.
