A former priest who worked in Arizona 10 years ago was arrested Friday in South Bend, Ind., on a warrant from Maricopa County.

Authorities in Indiana refused to disclose the charges against the Rev. Paul LeBrun or whether he would be extradited to Arizona. They said late Friday that LeBrun was seeking an attorney.

A spokesman for the Maricopa County Attorney's Office also refused to discuss LeBrun's arrest or the charges against him.

LeBrun worked as a priest and youth minister at St. John Vianney in Goodyear from 1986-90 and served at Blessed Sacrament in Tolleson from 1990-93. He was a priest in Indiana before and after his Arizona assignments.

The Rev. Robert Epping of the Indiana Province of the Congregation of Holy Cross said LeBrun resigned as associate pastor of Little Flower parish in South Bend in 1999 amid allegations of sexual misconduct with children. He said LeBrun was sent to Canada for psychological evaluation and had privileges to serve as a priest removed in April 2000.
