MORE than 20 possible victims of sex and physical abuse at a former Highland school have been identified following a police probe.
Police confirmed today that a joint investigation into reports of historic physical and sexual abuse carried out at Fort Augustus Abbey and Carlekemp School are continuing.
In a joint statement, Police Scotland and the Crown Office
said the probe – started in March 2013 following a report from a previous pupil “has so far identified more than 20 possible victims and extends to liaison with a number of law enforcement agencies across and outwith the UK2.
Specialist Officers from Police Scotland will carry out a thorough investigation and then report their findings to the Procurator Fiscal for the North of Scotland.
Police have appealed to anyone with information about this case to come forward and report it using the 101 number or by emailing fortaugustusabbeyenq@scotland.pnn.police.uk
