Another abuse lawsuit against former VANOC CEO John Furlong has been thrown out of BC Supreme Court.
This time, Justice Miriam Gropper has dismissed the action filed by Grace Jessie West.
She alleged Furlong physically and sexually abused her when he was a P-E teacher at a Catholic elementary school in Burns Lake in 1969 and 1970.
The judge pointed to evidence filed by the Catholic church and school association that say no student by West’s name attended their schools.
And since West didn’t attend the court hearing or file any competing evidence, the case must be thrown out.
Furlong was also awarded costs.
