[Financial investigators at the Vatican ransacked the offices of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. According to the Bild newspaper, they found a stack of money behind an old can of wieners in the desk of Mauro Ugolini, chief administrator of Cardinal Gerhard Muller. The newspaper said the confiscated money came from the various dioceses that were paid to have the Vatican investigate cases of sexual abuse in those dioceses and to carry out preventive measures. It is suspected the money was also used for private and business purchases by the cardinal.]
