An Idaho pastor and daycare director was arrested for sex trafficking this past weekend, the Elmore County Sheriff’s Office announced on Facebook.

Gregory “Greg” Jones, 58, serves as a pastor at Liberty Christian Fellowship in Mountain Home, a community off Interstate 84 just south of Boise, Idaho. He also works as the director of operations at the NXT Dream Center, a children’s daycare, preschool, and after-school center that is tied to the church.

Jones is facing two charges including human sex trafficking and forcible penetration, according to Elmore County court records. Police arrested Jones on April 25 following an arrest warrant by an Elmore County judge.

Jones’ crimes allegedly occurred in September 2024, court records report.

According to the sheriff’s statement, police first started looking into Jones through a broader trafficking investigation that began in January.

During this investigation, authorities identified and interviewed multiple victims who were able to provide “credible information” that has been “critical evidence” to advancing the case against Jones.

“The Elmore County Sheriff’s Office commends the courage of the victims who have come forward and assisted in this investigation,” the statement noted.

Police said the investigation is still ongoing and they believe there may be additional victims. They urge anyone with information to come forward.

Jones is currently being held in jail on a $5 million bail, according to court records.

Jone’s church, Liberty Christian Fellowship, is a nondenominational “Five-Fold Ministry” church, according to its website.

“We want to set biblical standards at Liberty and be a light in a dark world,” the website reads. “We understand however, that Christian men & women may make mistakes, and even fall short or miss the mark on occasions. Our objective is to point and draw people to Christ.”

Jones can be seen preaching at his church as recently as Easter Sunday via Facebook live stream. While on stage, he promotes and celebrates the NXT Dream Center with his congregation.

At one point, Jones brings up an NXT Dream Center student on stage to show church members the importance of ministering to kids through the programs at the organization.

The Roys Report (TRR) reached out to Liberty Christian Fellow and NXT Dream Center for comment but did not hear back prior to publication.

Mother contends daycare has yet to communicate with parents

A mother of a student at the daycare told local outlet KIVI TV that she is furious at both the allegations against Jones and the lack of communication from NXT Dream Center.

“I am disgusted. I’m angry. And very distrusting of not only the sheriff’s department at this point, but daycare facilities in general,” Kerstyn Tracy said. She noted that she found out about the arrest through Facebook and friends, not from her son’s daycare.

“They have yet to put out a statement or address any communication, email, text, phone call, in person,” Tracy said. “The fact that he, I mean, they were aware that he’s being investigated for sex crimes. And I feel like that is a possibility of a danger to our children. And I am very upset about that.”

According to Tracy, Jones was very involved in the day-to-day operations at the daycare and served as the main point of contact for parents. He also regularly opened the school doors for kids and transported them to activities at the nearby Mountain Home Air Force Base.

Tracy said that parents need transparency from NXT Dream Center, or even just for the organization to acknowledge what’s happening.

“I think even if you just acknowledge it and say, hey, there’s some things going on here. I don’t really know what it is. We are working on figuring it out. Anything to acknowledge and address it,” she added.

Jones was once highly recognized in the Mountain Home community — he received the person of the year award from Mountain Home’s Black History Committee, according to a 2013 article from Mountain Home News.

Jones also previously served in the Air Force and the Idaho Air National Guard, according to Mountain Home News.
