A woman who is now an adult has reached a tentative settlement with the Archdiocese of Los Angeles in her lawsuit alleging she was sexually abused by two clergy members and a nun while she was a minor attending a Catholic church and school two decades ago.

Attorneys for the plaintiff, identified only as L.G., filed court papers Thursday with Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Tiana Murillo notifying her of a “conditional” resolution of the case with the expectation a request for dismissal will be filed by Sept. 1.

No terms were divulged.

The archdiocese released a statement regarding the accord, saying it was part of a global settlement of multiple cases.

“In this particular matter, claims regarding the individuals have not been found to be credible,” the statement read. “There is no Archdiocesan record of the named woman … at all. The matter remains under internal review while the global settlement process continues.”

According to the suit filed Feb. 3, L.G. was a parishioner at Church of the Transfiguration in Leimert Park and a student at Transfiguration School. From 1998-2005, when L.G. was 8 to 14 years old, she was molested by a monsignor, a priest and a nun multiple times on the Transfiguration premises, the suit states.

L.G., who took part in church and school activities, reported the alleged abuses to two teachers and the principal, but no investigation took place and the misconduct against her continued, the suit alleged.

L.G. has “suffered and continues to suffer … severe and permanent psychological, emotional and physical injuries, shame, humiliation and the inability to lead a normal life,” the suit stated.
