A Chalmette pastor arrested in 2023 for having sexual relations with multiple juveniles has been found guilty of related charges.
A jury in Chalmette found Milton Martin III, 56, guilty of indecent behavior with juveniles.
Louisiana State Police say an investigation that began in November 2022 found that Martin had sexual relations with a juvenile multiple times between 2010 and 2013, when the victim was between 14 and 17 years old. Based on the victim’s account, troopers obtained an arrest warrant in St. Bernard Parish.
Martin turned himself in on March 8, 2023, and was booked into the St. Bernard Parish Correctional Center on charges of felony sexual battery and carnal knowledge of a juvenile.
Troopers continued the investigation after the initial arrest and identified an additional victim.
According to investigators, Martin had sexual relations with a 14-year-old victim in 1991. Troopers obtained a second arrest warrant in St. Bernard Parish, and Martin turned himself in again on April 5, 2023. He was booked on a charge of indecent behavior with juveniles.
State Police say the investigation remains active, and additional charges may follow.
