A former Kaukauna private school teacher has changed his plea to guilty in 17 of the 30 felony child pornography and exploitation charges filed against him in Calumet County Circuit Court.
Collin Killoren, 31, of Shiocton, initially entered a not guilty plea to all 30 counts on July 10, but reached a plea agreement with prosecutors that was entered into the court record during a Feb. 12 hearing, according to public court records.
As a consequence, he changed his plea to guilty to 13 counts of child sexual exploitation and four counts of child pornography. The rest of the charges were read into the record and dismissed. Each charge carries a potential fine of up to $100,000, up to 25 years in prison for each child pornography charge, and up to 40 years for each exploitation charge.
His sentencing hearing is scheduled for April 16, according to public court records.
Why was Killoren charged?
Killoren, a former teacher at St. Ignatius Catholic School and Chesterton Academy in Kaukauna, was arrested in April 2025. An investigation into Killoren was triggered when MediaLab AI, which owns the messaging platform Kik, sent tips to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s CyberTipline about two Kik accounts that contained sexually explicit chat logs and images. The images contained child sexual abuse materials.
The tips led to Killoren’s arrest and 14 charges in Calumet County court. Investigators later found more accounts belonging to Killoren that contained child sexual abuse materials and added another 16 charges, according to an amended complaint in June 2025.
Prior to his arrest, Killoren had worked at the school for two years, according to an April 2025 statement from the school. The statement said no St. Ignatius or Chesterton students appeared to be connected to the charges and that they had not been aware of any issues with Killoren beforehand.
