No new information was made available during a March 10 court appearance by Clarence “Barry” Hungerford. Hungerford is facing charges of tampering with physical evidence and unlawful use of electronic means within the commonwealth to induce a minor to engage in sexual or other prohibited activities.

During the March 10 court appearance, Hungerford’s public defender stated that they were still working to obtain records needed for the case. The case was continued to 8:30 a.m. on May 12.

The case began when the family of an 11-year-old girl contacted the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office on June 25, 2025, and reported that the girl had been solicited for photos of her body by the pastor of her church. Following a brief investigation, Hungerford was arrested the same day and admitted to contacting her, as well as to destroying his cell phone in an attempt to to prevent the contents from being accessed.

While Hungerford is a resident of Mayfield, he was the pastor of a church in the Aurora community of Marshall County, and he maintained a part-time residence in Marshall County. Investigators believe he was at the Marshall County home at the time the photos were solicited.

Hungerford has been lodged in the Marshall County jail since his arrest.
