The 53-year-old man was sentenced to prison for distributing and possessing child sexually exploitative material after pleading guilty to four felony counts.
A former Nampa pastor was sentenced to prison on Thursday for distribution and possession of child sexually exploitative material.
Matthew Masiewicz’s plea deal was accepted on Thursday by Canyon County 3rd District Judge Brent Whiting, according to online court records. Under the agreement, Masiewicz, 53, was convicted on three counts for distribution of child sexually exploitative material and one count for possession or access. All other charges were dismissed.
Masiewicz was originally charged with 13 felony counts, including multiple counts of knowingly distributing child sexually exploitative material, willfully possessing or accessing child sexually exploitative material, and one count related to visual representations of the sexual abuse of a minor.
He entered not guilty pleas to all charges during a court appearance on Nov. 12 last year.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Masiewicz was arrested in September 2025 after the Idaho Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit was notified about files of child pornography that were sent over Kik, an online messaging app.
ICAC officials began their investigation and traced back the email address, username and two IP addresses tied to Masiewicz and the Sovereign Grace Fellowship, court documents show. According to the church, Masciewicz was immediately removed from leadership following his arrest.
The affidavit states that investigators received Masiewicz’s alleged chat logs under the username “GeneralAbner,” with a group named “Church Pastors.” In the chat, “GeneralAbner” reportedly references using AI images to “alter images of women to make them look younger.”
Masiewicz in early February entered guilty pleas to four felony counts as part of a plea agreement. The guilty pleas included three counts of knowingly distributing child sexually exploitative material and one count of willfully possessing or accessing such material. The remaining charges were later dismissed at the request of prosecutors, according to online court records.
For each of the three distribution charges, he received a total sentence of 17 years, with five years fixed and 12 indeterminate. Masiewicz will serve those sentences, which will run concurrently, in Idaho Department of Correction custody.
The court credited Masiewicz with 192 days – nearly half a year – for time served prior to sentencing. He was also ordered to pay statutory fines and fees totaling $845.50 across all convictions.
