PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Archdiocese of Philadelphia says it has determined that two more priests are not suitable for ministry because of allegations of inappropriate conduct, however, church officials have refused to outline the specific allegations.
In making final decisions in six additional cases, Archbishop Charles Chaput says two more suspended priests will be permanently barred from ministry because of what the church calls “a substantial violation” of the “Standards of Ministerial Behavior and Boundaries.”
The Archdiocese says neither was due to “a substantiated allegation of sexual abuse of a minor.”
Four other suspended priests will return to ministry.
