Known first to have been accused by a man in 2002. Accused in 2005 of abuse in the 1980s by three people. Went on “voluntary” leave in 2005. Retired in 2006 after the Church decided to try him. The first accuser settled in 4/2006 for $50,000. Two others also settled. Privileges were withdrawn. Cheplic was last known to be living without restrictions at the St. John Vianney Residence for Retired Priests in Rutherford, NJ. Included on the Archdiocese’s list 2/13/2019. Permanently removed from ministry.
