‘Retired’ in 1995. Removed from part-time parish work in 2002. Named by the Diocese in 2002 as one of 14 abusers who had received treatment and were returned to work. Before ordination, seminary warned that he had “incipient schizophrenia with homosexual overtones.” Per a 1963 complaint, he showed two boys pornography. No action taken. Other allegations were received after retirement. Named in a 3/2003 report by the AG’s office. Three plaintiffs filed two civil suits in 2002. Given a life of prayer and penance, per the Diocese’s list 7/31/2019. The list updated 5/5/2022 shows Laferriere to be deceased.
