Fr. Edward N. Leroux
Parish priest, police chaplain, fire association chaplain. Alleged to have molested a boy in his early teens 50 times over a two-year period in the late 1960s. The Diocese learned of the allegations in 1992, yet kept Leroux in ministry. He retired in 1996. He was removed active ministry in 6/2002 and died 1/16/2005. Lawsuits were filed by at least three men claiming abuse by Leroux in the late 1970s-early 1980s; they settled with Diocese at mediation in 2/2005. Included on the Diocese’s list of accused in 11/2015. Accused in a lawsuit filed in 11/2019 sexually abusing a boy, age 16, in 1956. Per the suit, the boy told then-seminarian Howard Hubbard about the abuse, and Hubbard responded, “forget about” it. Hubbard denied the the man’s claims about him.
