Fr. Angus R. McDonald
McDonald was the first priest to be ordained for the Diocese of Fairbanks. Worked in Barrow 1966-1971. Also worked in the Baker and Portland, OR dioceses. Retired in 1986. Died in 12/1988 at age 65. Two or more pending claims against McDonald shown in bankruptcy reorganization documents for the Fairbanks diocese 1/25/2010. Included on the West Province Jesuits’ list 12/7/2018. It notes an allegation reported in 1957 of the sexual abuse of a minor in 1956, while assigned to Loyola High School in Los Angeles, CA. Dismissed in 1957. [May have been a Jesuit seminarian at the time.] On the Anchorage archdiocese’s list 1/16/2020, where he worked 1972-1973. It notes sexual misconduct with a vulnerable adult in 1976. Per the Fairbanks diocese’s list in 11/2020, there were four reports of abuse.
