Fr. Dunstan Moorse
Also known as Robert Harry Moorse. Two 1991 civil lawsuits claim Moorse sexually abused two boys while teaching at St. John’s Prep in Collegeville in 1984. Another civil suit was filed in 2002 alleging abuse in the 1980s. The suit settled against the Order at St. John’s Abbey in 9/2002. Claims against Moorse remained; they were dismissed in 7/2003 due to the statute of limitations. Moorse remained at the abbey, restricted in his work and social activities. His name was included on a list of monks likely to have offended against minors as released by the Abbey 12/9/2013. Included 11/3/2017 on the Archdiocese of St. Paul-Minneapolis list of “priests and religious brothers who have served or spent time in the archdiocese and have substantiated claims of sexual abuse of a minor against them.”
