Fr. Christian Roy
Roy was on personal leave in 1993 when he was accused of the sexual abuse of a boy 1983-1990. His privileges were removed. At least two other complaints were received. A woman sued him in 1994 claiming that Roy was counseling her and her husband and that he entered into a homosexual relationship with her husband during the counseling. The suit later settled. Roy was laicized in 2006. A man sued the Diocese in 2016, claiming sexual abuse as a boy by Roy and Rev. Raymond Lauzon in the late 1970s to 1981. The man said Roy abused him during trips to Red Sox games and took him to Lauzon’s home where he was also abused by that priest. Roy died 3/19/2026.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
