An Eagleville man has been arrested for the sexual abuse of a child at a local church while he was still a teenager himself.

Harrison County, Missouri, Circuit Court records filed on Friday, March 7, indicate that Tyler R. Lundy, 23, of Eagleville, has been charged in connection to the alleged sexual abuse of a child.

A probable cause statement filed by the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office revealed that on June 27, it was reported that Lundy may have sexually assaulted a child he knew well at the Eagleville Church of Christ. At the time of the crime, Lundy was a teenager in high school.

The victim reported that Lundy had lured him into restrooms at the church with stuffed animals or games in order to sexually assault him. This allegedly continued until a family member of the suspect may have started to catch on.

According to investigators, when the victim became a teenager and asked Lundy, who was now an adult, about the interactions, he confirmed he had done them. He allegedly repented for the actions but never apologized.

It was not until December that law enforcement officials said they interviewed Lundy about the alleged crimes. During the conversation, Lundy admitted he had sexually assaulted the child when he was a teenager and that it was a mistake.

As a result, Lundy has been charged with sexual abuse of a victim less than 14 years of age. As of Wednesday, March 12, he remains behind bars with no bond listed and no mugshot available.

A bond review hearing has been scheduled for 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18.

Law enforcement officials said another victim may be involved; however, that has not been confirmed at this time. Anyone with information about the case should report it to the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office at 660-425-3199.
