FOX Carolina Investigates: A call for help that went without justice for decades.

We uncovered an incident report showing investigators in Greenville County were made aware of alleged abuse at the hands of two adoptive parents, Myron and Kathleen Chorbajian, nearly 30 years before they were charged.

The pastor and his wife are facing a combined 90-plus charges related to the physical and sexual abuse of their adopted children.

FOX Carolina Investigates received copies of detectives’ files on the Chorbajians, which included an incident report from 1997.

In the handwritten report, the deputy notes that a woman came forward about sexual abuse. She was adopted by the couple when she was 4 years old land said the abuse started when she turned 12.

The sexual abuse continued until she was 20, when she was finally able to move out and get married, the report states. She contacted law enforcement about the allegations a year later.

No arrests were made until 28 years later. The records we obtained show an abuse report was filed in April 2025 and four more were filed in May, just before the Chorbajians were arrested.

Myron and Kathleen Chorbajian are being held without bond in the Greenville County Detention Center.

Arrest warrants previously released by the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office were graphic, detailing incidents where Myron allegedly tried to suffocate his victims by choking them or holding them underwater. He’s also accused of sexually abusing a child on their birthday.

Kathleen Chorbajian is accused of handcuffing a child to a bed for days on end and standing by while Myron carried out the alleged acts.
