Started his priesthood in a Dallas TX parish. Transferred in 1994 to work with indigenous people on Arizona reservations. Reportedly spent time at the Servants of the Paraclete in NM for treatment of an addiction to spending money. He was later assigned to parishes in New Orleans. Ford left the priesthood to work for the Louisiana state government. In 2006 he was assistant director of disability affairs and in 2008 became the state’s director of the state’s office of Indian affairs. He was arrested in 9/2025 in Indiana and charged with raping and kidnapping a boy in New Orleans, beginning when the boy was age 10 in 2004 and continuing until 2022 or 2023. The alleged victim has physical disabilities and autism, and was in a program for children with disabilities run by Ford.
