The Archdiocese of Chicago said the allegation against Rev. Thomas Conde involves a minor at a Sauk Village parish more than 20 years ago.
LIBERTYVILLE, IL — A retired priest who previously served at St. Joseph Parish in Libertyville has been asked to step away from ministry while the Archdiocese of Chicago investigates an allegation of sexual abuse involving a minor.
The allegation against the Rev. Thomas Conde is said to involve abuse that occurred more than 20 years ago at St. James Parish in Sauk Village, according to the Daily Herald. Conde served at St. Joseph Parish in Libertyville in several roles between 1987 and 1992, including as a deacon, associate pastor and administrator.
The priest has denied the allegation, and the archdiocese said the matter was reported to civil authorities and will be reviewed through its investigation process.
