ORLANDO (FL)
SNAP - Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests [Chicago IL]
August 19, 2026
A new group called ProtestantAccountability.org will unveil the first-ever list of alleged Protestant sexual abusers in an online news conference Wednesday, August 19, at 11:00 am, EST.
The list contains thousands of names of convicted, admitted, suspended, defrocked and/or publicly accused Protestant pastors and other church workers who have allegedly ‘violated, molested or sexually exploited vulnerable adults and children.’ In addition, the new database also includes those who suspected, or knew of, abuse and kept silent.
ProtestantAccountability.org was founded by several survivors of Protestant clergy abuse and a veteran archivist and expert in clergy abuse.
“We started this group to “protect the vulnerable, expose the wrongdoers, deter coverups and heal the wounded,” says founding member Chellee Taylor.
The inaugural effort involved hundreds of hours of research conducted by volunteers combing through court records, news accounts, articles and government records to compile the list that details 2,700+ clergy in 100+ denominations with photos. In addition to pastors, the new list includes other workers at Protestant churches and institutions (teachers, organists, camp counselors, etc.).
The group will post continuous updates to the resource online.
