Rev. Bernard J. Lennon
Monsignor. Died 2/28/1968. Accused in a 2026 lawsuit of sexually abusing a 12-year-old boy in 1958 at St. Margaret Parish in Rumford. The boy was training to become an altar server and Lennon was pastor. Lennon would allegedly ply him and other boys with alcohol and show them child abuse images. The abuse ended when the boy was sent to the school’s principal’s office to speak with a police detective about the abuse. The detective told him to go home and tell his parents. Lennon remained pastor of St. Margarert’s until his death in 1968.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
