His accuser lived in the rectory while he was a minor. A 1993 civil suit settled 12/94. Blong admitted a ‘relationship’ with the plaintiff but countersued, claiming plaintiff had given him AIDS. Diocese removed all privileges. Included in the CO A.G.’s report 10/22/19. Six known victims, beginning in first assignment in the 1950s and continuing after treatment and transfers into the 1990s. The diocese knew of Blong’s behavior as early as 1953. Died in 1999.
Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
