Br. Francis Boccotti
From Italy. Arrived in NJ in 1936. Joined the Salesians in 1937. Professed vows in 1938. Worked at Don Bosco Seminary in Newton, NJ as assistant to the financial administrator. He spent the rest of his life, from 1946 to 1994, at Mary Help of Christians School in Tampa, FL. Mary Help of Christians was initially boys’ orphanage, later a boarding and day school for boys. Boccotti was caretaker of the school’s cattle, orange trees and gardens, and he ran errands and collected donations. He died in 1994. Boccotti’s name was included in 3/2020 on the Salesians’ list of credibly accused.
