Ordained for the Diocese of Providence RI. Health care ethicist and theologian. Taught at St. Ambrose University in IA, and St. Louis University in MO. Vice-president for SSM Health Care. Adopted a son. Named publicly as credibly accused by the Diocese on its list 7/1/2019. Died 1/1/2004 in St. Louis. Allegation(s) were received after Brodeur’s death. Included in the 3/4/2026 RI Attorney General’s Report, which notes that a few days after Brodeur died in 2004, the Diocese of Providence received an allegation that Brodeur had sexually abused a boy, ages 13-14, while assigned in the late 1970s-1980 to St. Jude’s in Lincoln. Brodeur was a family friend who frequently visited the boy’s home. The abuse would allegedly occur at night when Brodeur would go to the boy’s bedroom to tuck him in.
