Fr. Hubert C. Broussard
In the Archdiocese’s 12/2025 bankruptcy hearing a 71-year-old woman told the court that a priest sexually abused her when she was a 6-year-old first-grader at St. Mary Magdalen grade school in Metarie. The priest was Broussard, per her attorneys. The woman said she was on her way to the bathroom when the priest lured her into a store room, saying she needed an eye exam, then sexually attacked her. She said he sent her back to class and her teacher chastised her for taking too long in the bathroom. Broussard died in 2012.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
