Fr. Craig F. Brugger
Accused in 2002 of the sexual abuse of a 15-year-old boy in 1974. Also accused of receiving porn in 1989. Placed on leave 2002. Matter sent to Vatican. Laicization announced 6/06. Died 9/4/10. Accused in lawsuit of abuse of a boy 1972-76, ending when the boy was age 12. The boy was a St. Anne’s in Phoenixville parishioner. The abuse allegedly occurred in Chester County, at the boy’s parents’ beach house in Brigantine and other NJ locations. The boy reportedly told the parish pastor who said “these things did not happen” and not to speak of it. Also, after a nun got involved Brugger was moved to another parish.
