Fr. Frederick J. Cartier, Jr.
Personnel file released in 1/2003. Accused in a recent letter of repeatedly molesting a teenage boy at St. Barbara’s rectory in Woburn and on overnight camping trips to NH in about 1970. Name on list of MA priests revealed as abusers in the 3/2003 report on the Manchester Diocese issued by the NH AG’s office. Also named in the NH AG Audit Report 3/7/2009. Voluntary laicization announced 2/11/2011. Per Boston archdiocese’s list in 820/11, case concluded canonically. Died in 2020. Per his obituary, Cartier “changed careers” in 1979, working in the computer industry then as a dog groomer.
